A Message from Education Action: Toronto

Dear Friends,

We're pleased to announce the official opening of our website --
www.educationactiontoronto.com.

     We are especially grateful to Jean Rajotte (for his continuing technical
assistance), Dudley Paul (our Web Coordinator) and David Clandfield (our
Policy Chair) for all the work they have put into this site. They have
made a solid start to the process of laying out what Education Action:
Toronto stands for and what we hope to achieve. But, as they would be the
first to say, it is only a beginning and now it is up to you to help us
build its depth and range. Please go over the site carefully and let us
know how you think we can strengthen it and make it more accessible.

     We hope you had a great summer and are up for the work we have to take
on in the coming months. The corporate/government/bureaucratic agenda is
coming down as hard as ever on our schools -- in finance, in management
and in curriculum -- and we have to find the ways to turn it back.
